Join a Council: Empower Your Community

A group of diverse women attentively listening in a seminar or workshop.

Education & Awareness

Councils engage in activism initiatives to educate their peers about community safety and the importance of being aware of one's surroundings. This allows us to address suspicious activities, whether by literally blowing a whistle or contacting the authorities. We focus on early interventions for individuals who raise our concerns regarding safety awareness.

Activism Initiatives

Members organize events, discussions, and outreach activities as part of their activism initiatives to promote their message and engage with the student body at high schools or universities, as well as in their local city. They collaborate with organizations such as the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and Chamber of Commerce, which are also interested in enhancing community safety and safety awareness by providing speakers.

Networking

Councils aim to build a network of like-minded individuals who can support each other in their activism initiatives and foster a community focused on safety awareness. This involves knowing their surroundings and calling people out when needed by blowing a whistle (literally) and contacting the authorities. We are teaching people about early intervention skills to enhance community safety.

Organizing Events

Councils are responsible for planning and executing at least one activism initiative focused on community safety each academic semester. Additionally, councils in a city should hold an open meeting at least once per quarter to discuss safety awareness.

Peer and Social Engagements

They often set up 'tabling' events in high-traffic areas to discuss their activism initiatives and promote community safety while recruiting new members at schools and universities, as well as at Rotary, Knights of Columbus Halls, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and other clubs. These events also aim to raise safety awareness within the community.

Structure

Each council must have an executive board, including positions like President, Vice President, and Treasurer, to effectively manage its operations and support activism initiatives aimed at enhancing community safety and promoting safety awareness.
